A SUPERSTORE for new parents has opened its doors, bringing 78 jobs to the borough.

Baby specialists Kiddicare opened its 30,000 square-foot store at the Lombardy Retail Park, in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

There were product giveaways every hour during launch day, and lucky mum-to-be Preeya Tura, from Hayes, had her husband raid the shelves for £500 worth of essentials during a trolley dash.

The store will employ 78 staff.

It is Kiddicare’s seventh store opening this year, and the 10th nationally. The chain has been expanding since being acquired by Morrisons in 2011.

“We’re incredibly excited” said store manager Trisha McColgan.

“People have been approaching the shop for weeks, asking when we open, and we just can’t wait to get started and meet our local community.”

The store has parent and child changing rooms and feeding areas, and offers ‘pushchair MOTs’ and free car seat fitting.

It also provides a social hub for families, with a Kiddicafe, playzone, and an events room with daily activities.

The store will be holding an in-store Kiddicarnival this weekend, where there will be face painting, balloon modelling, beauty treatments, and goody bags.
