A DISPLAY of jitterbugs and doodlebugs, marching troops and dance troupes, were all part of the fun at a World War II themed weekend.

Evacuees, air raid wardens and rationing officers ensured that the several hundred people who attended the event felt like they had stepped right back into the 1940s at Kew Bridge Steam Museum in Green Dragon Lane, Brentford on October 8 and 9.

Education Officer, Jo Willis said: "Great fun was had by all and everyone enjoyed it. We had real air raid sirens going as well.

"Lots of families turned up, but we also had lots of older visitors who would have been children during the war."

Guests could also take in a display showing where bombs had hit Chiswick during the 50 raids between late 1940 to early 1941.
