Ten residents were rescued from flats after a fire broke out in a shop below.

Four fire engines and more than 20 firefighters spent an hour battling the blaze in a shop on Woodcock Hill, Kenton, Monday afternoon.

The fire damaged the staircase of the property and part of the four-room flat on the first floor was also damaged.

Fire crews from Wembley, Harrow, Willesden and Northolt were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
