I AM dismayed and saddened that the Labour Group in Brent voted through proposals at Monday's Executive to pave the way for the closure of six much-loved libraries in Brent. They are clearly not listening to the wishes of those that they were elected to serve.

I am also disappointed that this decision has been taken after major renovation works have been completed at both Neasden Library and Barham Park Library, when the executive could have looked at ways of utilising the new facilities on offer rather than taking the quick fix of simply closing them down.

I oppose these closures 100 per cent and will do everything I can to save Brent's libraries for the people that need them.
