DEAR Mr Keen, your open letter to me, which has the look of being a cut and paste job from a Labour Party template, demonstrates which of us are more in touch with the constituency we wish to represent after the general election.

If you actually lived within the Feltham & Heston constituency, you would have known the leaflet that has recently been delivered from me did not relate to the subject matter you raised. Instead, its focus has been on exposing the extent to which the Labour has cocked things up on controlling immigration and maintaining good race relations in this country.

The Feltham & Heston Conservative Association paid for the cost of this literature. The taxpayer funded the two items from you that were put through my door before Christmas.

It is also a bit rich of you to give me the opportunity to come clean with my fellow residents in Feltham & Heston, when it took you four years to follow through on an assurance to explain why you required the taxpayer to fund a second property in central London.

More importantly, I believe my constituents in Feltham North would testify I have not been anything other than clean.

They have heard from me all year round and not just at election time. If elected as MP, I would replicate that wider.

COUNCILLOR MARK BOWEN

Conservative parliamentary candidate for Feltham & Heston,
