A TALENTED street dance group from Brent has back-flipped to winning a national competition.

Hypnotick Juniors (pictured) won the 2010 UDO British Street Dance Championship title in the under-10s category last month, earning them a place in the European Championships next year.

The project to get kids dancing in the borough is run by non-profit organisation Active Aspirations, and is proving to be a big hit with local youngsters.

Sisters Olivia, Emma and Tara Blisset, aged 10, seven and seven respectively, along with friends Rafaela Darbin, seven, Micha Phillips Davis, nine, Blaine Scott-Shuffler, eight, Kai Broomes, nine, and Sian Cook, 10, left their parents speechless when they were crowned 2010 British Dance Champions at the annual competition, which took place in Somerset last month.

Lead choreographer Taofeeq Sanusi and break-dance expert, Mahdi Ghali said they were incredibly proud of their recent success.

Mr Sanusi, who is also known as Taz, said: "The children's dream now is to participate and represent Brent in the European Street Dance Championship in France next year, which they are all looking forward to."
