A COMIC book artist who allegedly attacked a police officer appeared before magistrates in Uxbridge on Thursday.

A COMIC book artist who allegedly attacked a police officer appeared before magistrates in Uxbridge on Thursday.

Brett Ewins, 56 of Cowper Road, Hanwell appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court charged with GBH with intent.

Ewins who once worked as an artist on comic strips including Judge Dredd has been remanded into custody to appear on February 17 at Isleworth Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.

The IPCC is conducting an independent investigation into police contact with the man, after a police officer was injured during the incident last month.
