Designer discount giant TK Maxx is putting the finishing touches its new store in the borough, which will create 50 jobs.
The 15,000sq ft store in Victoria Road, South Ruislip, is set to open on Thursday, September 18 in the Ruislip Retail Park.
Store manager, Jeevs Thilakan, said: “We are very excited to be opening up the new store and bringing South Ruislip shoppers big savings on all their favourite brands.”
The new store complements the ones in Hayes and Uxbridge. To enquire about jobs at South Ruislip, search TK Maxx jobs or ask at your local Jobcentre.
Meanwhile, Screwfix is to officially open in Uxbridge in the same week, creating 12 new jobs.
Screwfix started trading in the town at the end of August but will hold a celebratory opening long weekend between Thursday, September 18 and Sunday, September 21.
The Uxbridge store manager Steven Lovelock is proud that the new branch was helping reduce unemployment figures in the area. He said: “We’ve created 12 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from in and around Uxbridge.
“Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.”
Tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts are invited to the new branch, in Trade City Business Park, Cowley Mill Road, during the launch weekend to take part in a screw drilling competition, when one lucky person will win a 40in Toshiba flat screen TV.
The store will provide a ‘click and collect’ service within five minutes of ordering, and Mr Lovelock expects it to be a hit with tradesmen and DIY-ers.
He said: “I’m confident that we’ve got a great location in Uxbridge. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.
“We are keen to welcome tradesmen and serious DIY-ers with a speedy, reliable and convenient service.” The launch weekend will include product ranges at a 10 per cent discount and other special offers.
