A BURGLAR who left a mum "scared in her own home" has been imprisoned for three and a half years.

Andrew Barrowes, 40, along with five other men, targeted a woman who was on her own with her two young children before ransacking her home in New Road, Brentford.

On July 13 last year, the gang of balaclava toting thugs broke into the victim's house tore through all her property and aggressively held the victim demanding money from her.

Barrowes was arrested after his fingerprints were found on the handle of a cupboard and eventually pleaded guilty to burglary after initially claiming his prints were on the property because he had visited a number of furniture shops.

Speaking after the sentencing on Monday, DC Marlon Pinto of Hounslow CID said: "This should be a warning to all those involved in violent and similar crimes. We do not tolerate any person committing these crimes and we will endeavour to do our best to bring those who do to justice.

"This man has paid the price for committing burglary which has no only affected our victims but also upset his family."
