An inquest was today opened into the death of a schoolgirl who collapsed and died while waiting for a bus outside her school.

Magdalena Szablinska, of Fairdale Gardens, Hayes, went into cardiac arrest at a bus stop outside St Mark's Catholic School, in Bath Road, Hounslow, on Tuesday, at about 3pm. She was taken to West Middlesex Hospital but could not be resuscitated.

An inquest into the 16-year-old's death was today opened and adjourned at West London Coroner's Court.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday at Fulham Public Mortuary. The cause of death is to be determined at the inquest.

Paul Enright, headteacher at St Mark's, this week told getwestlondon , she was a 'kind', 'intelligent' and 'hardworking' student who was missed by everyone at the school.

He said prayer sessions had been held at the school and a memorial service was planned, though no date has yet been confirmed.
