An inquest into the death of a two year-old girl who was killed in the car park of the ASDA superstore in Wembley will begin on Friday.           

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday (Tuesday, September 16) and the cause of death has been recorded as a head injury.

The inquest held at North London Coroner's Court will start in two days (Friday, September 19) and will look into the death of the toddler who was hit by a car and then later died .

Police were called at about 8.40pm on Thursday, September 11 to the store in Forty Lane, Wembley after reports of an incident involving a car and a child in the car park area.

The toddler was treated at the scene by paramedics but died later in hospital, she was with her mother at the time of the collision.

London Ambulance Service paramedics treated her at the scene and then took her to Northwick Park hospital in Harrow where she died.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or with any information that may assist police to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Alperton on 020 8991 9555.

Officers said the driver of the car has not been arrested.
