ONE of Harefield's busiest roads has been shut off this morning (Thursday) after a serious road accident.

A pedestrian, believed to be a middle-aged woman, was airlifted to hospital after a car collided with her.

The accident happened at Breakspear Road North, Harefield, at around 9.15am.

Police have cordoned off the road, and collision investigation teams are piecing togethether the circumstances of the accident.

Members of staff at The Malthouse Pharmacy, 100 yards from the scene, told how they provided an additional first aid kit to paramedics.

The driver of the car stopped and is helping police with their enquiries.
