I WOULD like to comment on your article 'Expenses row couple to face vote drubbing' (Chronicle, October 16).
The findings of the opinion poll are very interesting.
I am confident that victory for Mark Bowen, Alan Keen or the Lib Dems in Heston and Feltham will surely rest on the support of the independent group of Cranford ward candidates, who secured nearly 1,000 votes each in the 2006 Hounslow Council elections.
Among many residents in Hounslow there is a general discussion that this independent candidate's support is now escalating in other areas of Feltham, Heston and Hounslow, where they are likely to file independent candidates in 2010 elections.
We may also see an upset in the Cranford ward in 2010 elections, with all three seats going to the independents as residents are very dissatisfied with the existing three councillors.
Watch this space: you may see very strong independent candidates emerging in the 2010 general election, who will offer a formidable challenge to all parties.
