A sufferer of Asperger's syndrome from North Harrow who admitted to creating pornographic images and videos of children has been warned he faces jail.

Matthew Chapman, 39, of Cambridge Road, admitted six counts of making indecent photographs of a child and six of making an indecent movie file of a child at Harrow Crown Court on June 27.

He was due to be sentenced on Tuesday but the case was adjourned until November 4 for the preparation of a report by a neuropsychologist and for police to continue their enquiries.

Neither the circumstances in which the offences were committed nor the police investigation were discussed in court.

Mr Chapman, who has Asperger's syndrome, hearing loss and dysphasia - the inability to speak words that come to mind - was remanded back into custody.

John Humphreys, legal counsel for Mr Chapman, said: "This is a young man who undoubtedly suffers with a significant number of different issues, hearing loss being only one.

"He has Asperger's syndrome and dysphasia and these serve only to exacerbate his inability to communicate in any meaningful way."

Judge Ronald Moss said: "These are serious offences and he is facing a custodial sentence."
