WHEN the banks were closing their local offices, the Nationwide sent letters to all of its customers deploring their actions and said that they would always put customers first and keep the local offices.

Now we find that they have obviously learnt a lot fron the banks and the Post Office and decided that they will close one office here and one there hoping that they will not draw attention to themselves like the others did and get away with it (It's the death of the street, Ruislip Gazette, September 17).

So much for loyalty to their customers, when it comes to customers or profits the big boys will always go for profits no matter how much inconvenience the customer is put to.

This now leaves me free to take my money to a nearer bank than the one they are sending me to. I'm sure they will not miss the loss of funds that this will cause them or their past loyal customers.

They should take heed of what is happening in the present climate with banking.
