An Ickenham teacher had a close shave in support of a colleague battling breast cancer.
Si Moore, head of year nine at Douay Martyrs School in Edinburgh Drive, was sponsored to shave his head to raise money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (LJMC) at Mount Vernon Hospital, which has helped the school's Specialist Behaviour Support Manager, Lisa Hooper, in her battle against the disease.
"I got breast cancer and ended up having a double mastectomy and all the lovely frills that go with it," said Lisa.
"Si raised a raised a huge £500. This will go towards therapies for ladies like myself who desperately need the TLC.
"The kids here gave so generously, we are proud of our school community, all of the kids dug really deep to help."
