UNDER the heading, 'Planning laws are our ruin', you printed an attack on an MP by someone who chose to conceal their identity.

Politics in Harrow always used to be gentle-manly.

Our MPs, Labour or Conservative, were respected by their opponents for their hard work.

Gareth Thomas is a respected hard-working MP. To describe him as "discredited" is misleading.

He claimed expenses to which he was not entitled.

Nobody is suggesting he was dishonest. He made exactly the same honest mistake as David Cameron.

I am not a member of any party, and I voted against Labour in the recent elections.

But like many residents of Harrow I like to see fair play, and I suspect the recent campaign against Mr Thomas tells us more about (prospective Conservative candidate) Dr Rachel Joyce than about him.
