A SHOCKED gardener discovered human remains while cutting back plants, sparking a police investigation.

The workman was tidying up the roof garden of Lovelace House in Uxbridge Road, West Ealing, when he found part of a jawbone among some pebbles.

He handed over his discovery at a Surrey police station when he finished work at about 4.40pm last Wednesday (28).

Officers made a fingertip search of the area shortly after, finding some more teeth but no more remains.

Police do not know who the bone belonged to nor whether the find is suspicious at this stage.

It is unknown whether the deceased died at the site or whether the bone was transported to the site with the pebbles or other material when the garden was landscaped.
