Nearly 500 people have signed an online petition to save a kebab van at Henlys Roundabout in Hounslow during the last 24 hours.

The petition was launched on Saturday (August 16) by Ahmad Al-Amin, who runs the takeaway unit at the junction of Bath Road and Great South West Road with his three brothers.

It has seen a huge surge in popularity overnight after getwestlondon yesterday highlighted their campaign to be allowed to stay.

The kiosk has been based on the grass verge outside McDonald's for 25 years but, after losing a battle over ownership of the land, the Al-Amin family has been told by Transport for London (TfL) to leave immediately or face eviction.

The online petition had 474 signatures and counting as of 11am this morning.

Readers have also taken to Facebook and Twitter to express their love for the van's produce.

Julie Joolz Good said 'No way. Best kebabs in the world' and Sandeep Banwait remarked 'Nooo! It's been there forever!'
