A LARGE house fire in West Drayton took firefighters nearly three hours to bring under control on Friday morning.

Firefighters were called at 4.47am to 460 Bath Road, in Longford, with police also attending to seal off the busy road.

In total 20 firefighters and four crews attended, and the tudor-style house suffered severe structural damage.

The Fire Brigade confirmed the cause is currently under investigation.

Derek Potter, 69, who lives on Bath Road, said: "The house looks completely gutted, it has no roof, it woke me up and I was watching it out of my bedroom window."
