A drummer from Hounslow has made it into the final 40 of Britain's Got Talent - by banging on rubbish.

Dave Smith, 34, who grew up in Argyle Avenue and went to Latymer Upper School school, is now in the running along with 27-year-old drumming partner Katie Stephenson to win £100,000 and the chance to perform at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

Tonight (Tuesday) the duo - who met at Brunel University and call themselves Bang On - will compete with the other entrants to make it to Saturday night's live finals on the hit ITV show.

The 34-year-old said: "I'm very excited and also quite nervous. This is by far the largest audience we've ever played for."
