THREE men are believed to be behind a stabbing near a primary school which left a young man fighting for his life.

A 24-year-old man was knifed six times last Wednesday (February 29) in Martindale Road, Hounslow, with one of the wounds puncturing his lung.

He was released from hospital on Saturday (February 3) and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing, but a police spokesman said he was lucky to have survived.

Three white men are believed to have attacked him near the junction with Beavers Lane, close to Hounslow Heath Infant & Nursery School, at about 1.30pm.

Police today said they were unable to release any further details about his attackers, but they are understood to be closing in on the suspects.

Detective Inspector Neil John, of Hounslow Police, said the motivation for the attack remained unclear.
