SASHA Masamba's second victim has told how the terrifying knife attack has left her 'paranoid' and suffering flashbacks.

The 26-year-old was walking along Whitton Road, Hounslow, in the early hours of August 17 last year, when Masamba grabbed her from behind and slashed her across the jaw, before unsuccessfully attempting to stab her in the stomach.

In her victim impact statement, presented to the judge ahead of Masamba's sentencing today, the woman revealed she still feels unsafe walking alone.

"I used to feel safe walking to and from my house, to the bus stop or train station, but not anymore," she said.

"I stayed in Hounslow for only one month after the attack as I was too scared to stay there anymore.

"The night I was attacked it just felt like a small cut to my chin at first but the next day I realised how serious it was and became more and more scared."

The woman, who the Chronicle has chosen not to name, told how, eight months after the attack, she still hardly ever walks alone.

Her scar remains visible, though she is waiting for plastic surgery, and she described it as a terrible reminder of that 'horrible night'.

"I am paranoid of other people out on the street when I am walking so I try not to be alone outside," she said.

"If I do walk alone I sometimes get flashbacks about it all and I run to get to where I am going."

Masamba, 21, of Nicholes Road, Hounslow, admitted two counts of GBH with intent and was today sentenced at the Old Bailey to 18 years in prison.
