Hundreds of parents packed into a Hounslow West school hall to watch pupils take part in a traditional nativity event and honour the school's 100th Christmas.

More than 225 pupils, from years one and two at Hounslow Heath Infant and Nursery School, performed the Christmas story in their morning assembly, on December 17.

Head teacher Kathryn Harper-Quinn said: "It went extremely well, all the pupils performed wonderfully and we had a great turn-out from the parents."

The Martindale Road school also put up a special 18-foot Christmas tree this year to commemorate the school's centenary.

"We thought it would be a nice way to mark the year," said Ms Harper-Quinn.
