HOUNSLOW Manor School is to get a new headteacher for two weeks only.

Eric Edwards will replace current boss Anjali Sakhardadne for a fortnight as part of scheme to encourage more people from black and ethnic minority communities to become headteachers.

The secondary school, in Prince Regent Road, Hounslow, is one of only 10 schools nationwide to participate in the project, run by the National College of School Leaders.

Mr Edwards is an experienced deputy headteacher from a school in Haringey.

As part of the same scheme, Hounslow Manor's deputy headteacher Ranjit Sadhra will spend two weeks as headteacher at a school in south London.

The school said regular head teacher Ms Sakhardadne will be 'strategic planning' for the two weeks when Mr Edwards takes the reins.
