A Hounslow man assaulted his mother and smashed-up her TV with a dumbbell, a court was told.

Martin Mcnulty, 21, denied the charges at Feltham Magistrates Court.

He was appearing in connection with an incident at his mother Geraldine Hanlon's home in Bramley Way, Hounslow.

Prosecutor Leslie Milner told the court: "He admitted that at some stage she said something to upset him and he threw his drink at her. He then went into the garden and got a dumbbell came back and smashed up her TV."

Mcnulty, an electrician student from Stanley Road in Hounslow denied charges of criminal damage and common assault and he was bailed to return to court on August 19.
