Hounslow born-musician and rock legend Ian McLagan has died aged 69, due to complications after suffering from a stroke, yesterday (Dec 3).

Known as 'Mac', the rock and roll icon who played the keyboard for the Small Faces and the Faces, was surrounded by family and friends at his home in Austin, Texas, at the time of his death.

His manager Ken Kushnick, said: "He was a beloved friend to so many people and a true rock n roll spirit.

"His persona and gift of song impacted the music across oceans and generations."

Ian was scheduled to embark on a North American tour today, supporting labelmate Nick Lowe.

Bandmate, Kenny Jones added: "I am completely devastated by this shocking new and I know this goes for Ronnie and Rod also.

"Ian's artistry, generosity and warmth of spirit touched countless other musicians and music fans around the world.

"His loss will be felt by so many."
