Hotels are continuing to shoot up across Hounslow, with news of one opening and another on the way.

The Etap Hotel, just off Hounslow High Street, in Staines Road, opened its doors last Tuesday, just months after Days Inn in nearby Lampton Road welcomed its first guests.

Meanwhile, the council has revealed plans are afoot to restore the boarded-up Grenada Hotel across the road from Days Inn, which has stood empty for six months.

A spokesman said it had received a 'pre-application' from developers, who are discussing the details with planning officers before submitted a formal application.

Elsewhere, residents in Cranford have seen extensions to the Ramada Jarvis, known locally as the Berkeley Arms, and a new Travelodge shoot up in the last few months.

Writing in the latest edition of parish newsletter Outreach, Linda Helsdon, of Firs Drive, Cranford, said: "Cranford has always had a connection with accommodating transport but I hope they will leave some property for the locals to live in. We also hope they will leave us some parking."
