A medical trust which covers Northwick Park Hospital is failing financially, a recent report has revealed.

The Audit Commission found that North West London Hospitals NHS Trust has not met minimum standards in the management of their funds and that it has had severe cash problems for the last three years.

Organisations that cannot manage their finances tend to provide poor quality patient services and are unable to plan adequately for the future, according to the report.

Michael Higgins, chairman of the Audit Commission, said: "Poor financial management can put services for patients at risk. Patients and the public deserve better from the poor performers, who must learn from the strong performers."
