REGARDING last week's story, (Grieving Husband's Anger at Hospital, Gazette April 10) as a

patient and a worker at Ealing Hospital, I would like to say that I have personally received excellent care at the hospital.

I can understand where the woman's family comes from, as I have seen this in some areas of the hospital, but I will say that this is only a small minority of the hospital.

This, I know, is not acceptable, but most staff do strive to provide excellent support and care.

All places have some bad parts, but they should not condemn the whole service as a whole. Staff are overstressed, there has been a staffing problem, and some workers' attitudes are negative; but overall it's providing good quality care.

I personally ignore bad practice, and if it means taking more time with each patient (compared to what some others may), then so be it; I am only doing my job properly. I have worked in other hospitals, and I will say that Ealing Hospital is not the only hospital with some issues.

We have to remember that we are all human, and we can only work to the best of our abilities. This does mean that staffing and morale can cause problems; as in all walks of life.
