Remember a loved one this December with St Luke's Hospice's Light Up A Life Campaign.

St Luke's Hospice, in Kenton Grange, Kenton, is offering people from across the community the opportunity to honour, remember or celebrate the life of someone special who has died.

On December 7 at 4.30pm hundreds of lights will be illuminated on a Christmas tree in the ground of St Luke's, each one dedicated to someone special.

A short ceremony with music from Jubilate Choir will be followed by the lighting of the tree and a candle-lit walk to St Gregory's School, where refreshments will be served.

Pamela Russell, spokeswoman for St Luke's, said: "People are invited to sponsor one or more lights, which will shine bright-ly throughout December and the early part of January, bringing light into an otherwise dark part of the year.

"We hope that supporters can attend in person, but if they can't we will still light it for them."

Supporters will receive a card acknowledging that a light will be shining and a photo of their loved ones can also be hung on the tree.

Everyone will be remembered in a book of remembrance, which will be kept in the quiet room at the hospice.

Anyone who wishes to remember a loved one by sponsoring a light should send their donation, together with their name and address and a tribute to the person they would like to remember, to Light Up A Life, St Luke's Hospice, Freepost, SCE 8472, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 0YG.
