A WOMAN who converted a house in Ruislip Road into flats and built a bungalow in the back garden without planning consent has been fined by Ealing Magistrates.

Muntaz Bacai, 53, converted the house into two self-contained flats and built an outbuilding in the back garden, all without planning consent.

She rented out the properties while she lived at another address in Ruislip Road.

Ealing Council planning officers issued an enforcement notice in 2008, giving Bacai six months to knock down the outbuilding, remove a fence between the house and the bungalow and remove all alterations to the house that allowed it to be used as two flats.

Bacai appeared at Ealing Magistrates' Court last month, where she admitted she had failed to comply with the enforcement notice.

She was fined £800 and ordered to pay £641 costs.

Officers returned to the site after the court case to confirm that Bacai has now complied with the enforcement notice.
