Police have confirmed they are treating the discovery of a body in Alperton as murder.

Homeless Thiyagarajah Thiyananthan, 40, was found in a dis-used cash and carry warehouse in Atlip Road on Monday (02) morning.

A post mortem at Northwick Park Hospital later revealed the victim died of head injuries and police said the warehouse is a known haunt of rough sleepers.

Police said they are yet to discover a motive or the weapon used to kill Mr Thiyananthan, who was of Sri Lankan origin, and are yet to make any arrests.

The killing comes just days after the discovery of another homeless man's body.

Janusz Krason, 36, was found in make-shift home in Birchen Grove, Neasden on Saturday (31).

Police believe the Pole had been involved in gang fight 24 hours before he died.

The Homicide and Serious Crime Command is investigating, anyone with information is asked to call 020 8785 8244 or 0800 555 111.
