HARROW Council's home improvement agency beat competition from across the UK to win an award.
Harrow Home Improvement Agency beat other short listed UK organisations to win the ‘Excellence in delivering major adaptations’ at the Home Improvement Agency Awards 2012.
The agency was judged on reducing waiting lists, and their use of innovative approaches in delivering adaptations around the home.
Councillor Thaya Idaikkadar, Harrow Council's cabinet member for property and major contracts, said: "It is incredibly important work which maintains a high quality of life for our residents and helps ease the demand on our care services."
The ceremony was organised by Foundations, an umbrella group for agencies that help older, disabled and vulnerable people, repair and adapt their homes.
Baroness Kay Andrews hosted the awards ceremony at the House of Lords.
