A MAN was stunned to receive a phonecall from his bank saying his card had been used in Malaysia, and claims it is the tip of a card cloning iceberg.
Sean Bassett, 44, from Widmore Road, Hillingdon, said that when he went into his bank, HSBC, in Uxbridge Road Hillingdon, he was told he was one of 30 account holders who had fallen victim to the scam in the last 24 hours.
He said: "I took a call saying £200 had been drawn out of my account in Malaysia, I couldn't believe it.
"These things normally happen at cash points at petrol stations, so there may be a dodgy one in the area, I just want to warn people, I've never had this type of thing happen before."
