A PUPIL with the gift of the gab has won a language contest and will fly with his family to Africa to help disadvantaged children with their education.

Brendan Emmanuel, nine, a student at St Helen’s College in Parkway, Hillingdon, won the top prize in an international language competition.

He had to learn different languages including Portuguese, Kazakh and Ugandan Luganda, to take part in the Eurotalk Junior Language Challenge contest.

His friends and family saw him reach the grand final at Earl’s Court in London without making a mistake.

In Africa, Brendan and his family will distribute educational resources such as iPad tablet computers to underprivileged children.
