YOUNG people carrying knives have been warned they face arrest as police step up an anti-youth crime campaign.
A 15-year-old girl was charged last Thursday with possessing a knife in a public place, and has been summoned to appear at Uxbridge Youth Court later this month.
Hillingdon Police has been running Operation Protect since the start of the school term, focusing on improving safety for children travelling to and from school.
Inspector Nick Aldworth said: "Most young people in Hillingdon make valuable contributions to their schools and communities.
"The very few that choose to ignore our advice and carry knives will face a positive arrest and charging policy."
