The Body Worn Video trial in Hillingdon has yet to start.
Two Hillingdon Police emergency response units had been earmarked to test the clothing-mounted video cameras as part of a trial being conducted in 10 London boroughs.
But by late afternoon of the first day of the trial on Thursday, the equipment – cigarette packet-sized video cameras worn on the shoulder – had yet to show up.
Early on Thursday, the Met released footage of an arrest following a stabbing that had been recorded on one of the cameras.
Officers are required to switch the equipment on when they attend a particular type of incident, then download the information later. The trial is costing more than £800,000.
A Met spokesman said there was no specific start date for Hillingdon and the equipment would arrive in due course. The trial lasts a year.
