A HOSPITAL radio station run by volunteers has been nominated for a gong at a national broadcasting awards ceremony.
Hillingdon Hospital Radio has been shortlisted in the 'best station promotion' category at the Hospital Broadcasting Awards.
The award recognises the hard work that goes into creating a programme or trailer and the nomination arrives in the station's 40th year.
Representatives from the station have been invited to the awards ceremony in Maidstone, Kent, on March 26.
Steve Hickman, chairman of Hospital Radio Hillingdon, said: "I am very happy that we have been nominated for this award especially in our 40th Anniversary year. I will be keeping all my fingers and toes crossed."
The station relies greatly on fundraising, and a Race Night will be held on Friday (11) at Hayes Cricket Club in Wood End, with all proceeds going to the station.
