A student from Kensington has been named one of Britain’s brightest young legal talents at a ceremony in central London.

Lukas Hamilton Eddy was named National Accident Helpline’s Future Legal Mind 2015 and was given £5,000 to help towards his future legal studies.

The postgraduate student at City University London fought off four rivals to claim the award, which will also see him land a work placement at at leading solicitor firm Colemans-ctts.

The 25-year-old is training to be a barrister, at the historic Lincoln’s Inn in Chancery Lane. It is one of the four Inns of Court to which barristers belong.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have won. I’d like to thank the judging panel as well as my friends and family who have supported me to date.”

Amy Loughery won the undergraduate award.
