LITTER louts are at greater risk of being caught now the council has launched a phone app.

Called H&F Report It, the free app will allow users to take a photo of litter, graffiti or fly-tops on any public land and send their findings directly to the council, with the exact location sent by GPS signal.

Residents are asked to provide a short description of the problem before it is sent to the council, where it automatically appears on the ‘to do’ list of borough street cleaners.

The launch signals the beginning of a wider campaign to encourage residents to help the council make its streets the cleanest in London.

Deputy leader Greg Smith said: “It’s amazing what you can do on a mobile phone, so next time you are downloading a game, a ringtone or an app, then look up the app and try it out.

“Independent research shows our streets are among the cleanest in the capital, but we want to go further by getting residents to help us make them the cleanest streets in London.”

The app will not work on private land.
