A drug and gambling addict from Wealdstone has just been jailed for two years for dealing heroin.

Hamza Abdinoor, 19, of Byron Road, was found with 34 wraps of the class A drug with a street value of £583 on him, along with two packets of cocaine.

He was arrested on April 18 after officers spotted him leaving tiny drug parcels - presumably to be picked up by someone else - in the crisp and sweets aisle of a shop.

The Somalian, who pushed drugs to fund his habits, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply at Harrow Crown Court, Hailsham Drive, Wealdstone, on June 6.

Speaking at the crown court sentencing hearing at 11.30am this (Friday) morning, Judge Nick Madge said: "Day in and day out, we see the effects of an addiction to class A drugs. They wreck lives."
