THE Heathrow Classic Car Show displayed something for everyone from vintage motors to pipe bands to a fun fair.

In it's ninth year more than 250 car exhibitors gathered at BA Concorde Club, Crane Lodge Road to display their precious vehicles in a race to be a winner.

The event on July 5 saw more than 1,000 people flock to the fields to see vehicles such as the classic Austin Healey, enjoy music from the London Pipe Band Festival and indulge in food and drinks.

BA Clubs event organiser, Garry Court said: "It was an absolutely brilliant show and thanks to the weather for holding out, it helped out a lot.

"I have had comments from people saying it was a great success. This is the best I have done and we will carry on as we are for 2010."

In the mile long queue of motors a winner was selected in each of five categories; American & Custom, Classic, Commercial & Military, Vintage and Motorcycles.

Finally a special trophy was given to the best vehicle in the show, decided through a spectator vote and the Rolls-Royce 20/25 was the crowd pleaser.

With the sun-shining on the day there a fully licensed bar with food, ice-cream and burger vans, and children were kept entertained with a bouncy castle, craft fair and mini fun fair.

The event was in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital who had a stall up on the day.

A raffle draw raised around £500 and counting, some of which will be donated to the charity at a later date.

The day was sponsored by Allport of Heston and SDD Sound and Light.
