We would like to take this opportunity to publicly praise all of the staff at the Ealing Hospital NHS Trust and to sincerely express our gratitude and thanks for all of their help and assistance during the last nine months.

Our contact with the staff at Ealing Hospital began with the Early Pregnancy Unit. By definition, this was an extremely worrying and stressful period in our lives. This burden was however eased by the kindness, dedication and professionalism displayed by all of the staff from the EPU.

As taxpayers, we wished to avail ourselves again of their services. This time we chose to visit the accident and emergency department. It was a very busy but a very controlled atmosphere. Our treatment was swift but compassionate, and yet again the staff were 'top trumps'.

Our positive experiences continued with an unscheduled visit to the maternity unit. It was very clear that the unit was busy, but this did not mean that the staff were any less caring towards us. The problem was quickly identified and we were soon despatched home with yet again a warm feeling from the care and compassion received from the staff at the maternity unit.

Missing the staff at the hospital, I decided to develop a condition which required the excellent services of the physiotherapy unit. As expected, the care was first class, as was the advice. So much so that my condition eased dramatically, which resulted in me having to wave a happy goodbye to another department at Ealing Hospital.

Finally, as expected from our previous dealings, our little bundle of joy didn't follow any of the planning and decided to arrive early. No fear however: yet again all of the staff at the maternity unit were geared up and ready to go. After a perfect delivery our little baby scored a fantastic 10/10. This was followed up by a three day stay in the Lammas Ward of Ealing Hospital.

Throughout my stay I was continually impressed with all of the staff, from the domestics to the surgeons. Yet again it was clear that the wards were full and the staff were constantly on the go, but this in no way impacted on the care, compassion and cheerfulness of everyone that I encountered. I have to say that everyone that I have had the pleasure of encountering over the last nine months should be rightly proud of themselves and their colleagues - and remember letters like this when others take cheap shots at the staff at the hospital.

Thank you to all of those heroes and heroines who work in the famous blue-topped building in Uxbridge Road.
