I WOULD like to show my deep and heartfelt gratitude to the London Ambulance Service paramedics and the A&E staff at Northwick Park Hospital.

I called 999 on March 9, when my husband suffered a severe asthma and bronchitis attack. I had barely replaced the receiver and was opening the front door as the paramedics arrived. The ambulance crew did not seem to be very far behind them.

I was shaking with fear for my husband, but witnessing the wonderful, calm, professional and speedy treatment they gave my husband was a great consolation.

On reaching Northwick Park Hospital, it was almost a seamless continuation of my husband's treatment.

Even though the A&E department seemed to be full of patients, there was never a time when my husband was unattended or not monitored.

Before he was discharged from hospital the next day, the asthma nurse advised him on the best way to deal with his condition, which was of great help.

With the treatment, medication and the advice letter to the GP from the hospital team, his recovery and progress have been wonderful. We cannot find enough words to praise the paramedics, ambulance team and hospital staff.

Please convey our deepest heartfelt gratitude to all involved.
