A HOME has been left badly damaged after flames engulfed the property in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Four fire engines were called to the scene and 25 firefighters battled to extinguish the flames at the house in Craven Close, Hayes, at about 6.10am.

A 56-year-old man living nearby, said: "We saw huge flames coming out of the building and the smoke was pouring into the road.

"It makes you worried to think such a fire could take place so close to your home. But the firefighters were here within minutes and they seemed to get it under control fairly quickly."

An ambulance also attended but no one was injured.
