MORE warehouse space is planned for one of Hayes’s major business parks.

Prologis Park Heathrow wants to build three more industrial units on an unused piece of land to the north of the Bourne Avenue site, once home to a gun factory and then a Ministry of Defence document record office, and until the 1930s, an agricultural piece of land.

The new buildings will provide more than 14,000 square metres floorspace.

Up to 172 parking spaces will be provided. Prologis is offering ‘build to let’ opportunities for businesses.

The site has long been a key industrial area, being so close to Heathrow Airport, and its location and access from the M4 and A347.

The Environmental Agency has opposed the bid due to water drainage concerns, but it believed that these can be remedied with conditions. The site also sits within the Crossrail Safeguarding Area, which offers the high speed line protection in law from development which will impact on its construction, and Crossrail have yet to have their say on the project.

Hillingdon Council planning officers have recommended the project for approval, and councillors will decide on it at tomorrow’s (Thursday) planning committee meeting.
