Teachers used the magic of books to conjure up support with a Harry Potter themed day celebrating libraries.

Students at Latymer Upper Schoo l in Hammersmith donned spectacles and red and yellow Gryffindor scarves to mark National Libraries Day on Friday last week.

Staff promoted the importance of the school’s library to promote reading in a range of lessons from modern language and classics to geography and science.

School librarian Terri McCargar said: “The school library should be at the heart of any school, supporting teaching and learning.”
