AFTER reading that article about Harrow being one of the most miserable places to live, I have got to say how much nonsense that is.
Never have I ever met a group of people like us Harrovians. Such a diverse group of individuals, who all accept each other for what we are, who get along so well.
Yes Harrow may not be the nicest place to live, but for someone like me who was born and raised there, I cannot agree with it being one of the most miserable places to live.
A night out in Harrow is a breath of fresh air, you don't have to worry about what you say or what you do, coz everyone is relaxed and laid back and is just out to have a good night.
I'm wondering, have any of these people who wrote the study ever been to Harrow, or did they just aim their questionnaires at 14-year-old school-children who, let's face it, act like the world is coming to end every minute of the day.
The one thing no person living in Harrow will ever deny is wanting to get out of Harrow, but that is because we have no desire to leave Harrow most of the time so grow sick of doing the same things every weekend, every bit of spare time we have.
Then, you look and see that all those same people saying these things will still go out in Harrow every Tuesday for pound a pint night, or go down to Trinity to see the local bands playing.
Because this is what we do as a community in Harrow, yes, same old every week, but if it was really that miserable a place would we all still be there?
