The young man stabbed to death at a Harrow Weald petrol station last night was 19-year-old student Hassan-Kul Hawadleh - the nephew of Harrow Hero Asha Kalib.

Mr Hawadleh, who emigrated with his family from Somali to Britain when he was just one year old, received fatal wounds to his torso at around 7.30pm last night at the High Weald Service Station in High Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His aunt is Stanmore resident Asha Kalib, the chairwoman of Harrow Somali Women's Organisation, who won a Community Award at Harrow's Heroes Awards last year.

She said: "The victim is one of my relatives - a nephew. His father's a distant cousin of mine.

"He was a bright student. He finished A-levels in Harrow at Harrow College and was studying at the University of East London.

"He was a very intelligent and very nice guy. He was born into a good family."

A second victim, 20, was also stabbed in the torso and was taken to a west London hospital.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's homicide and serious crimes directorate are looking for a second group of individuals in relation to the crime.

Mrs Kalib said: "We don't know exactly what the motive was but the guy who attacked him was around 35 years old and black."

Mr Hawadleh lived in Colindale.
